How to Build a Ramp For a Shed?
My garage was starting to get crowded so I decided I needed some space for the lawn and garden equipment. I looked around and saw that most people had either a wooden ramp or a concrete slab. So I figured I’d just go out and buy a cheap plastic ramp and call it a day.
Lawn tractor, Lawn Mower are useful for this tips.
But then I realized how much work it would be to make something like that. Plus, I didn’t want to spend $20+ on a piece of plastic that wouldn’t look great.
So I came up with a plan. Instead of buying a pre-built concrete shed ramp , I would build one myself. A few months later, here we are. Hopefully you’ll find this helpful.

How to Build a Ramp For a Shed : Step 3 Foundation
I found a great article about how to build a deck without a foundation. and here few tips :
1. Make sure you have enough space around the building to accommodate the height difference.
2. Be sure to dig down deep enough to reach solid ground.
3. Avoid digging into areas where water collects; those spots are prone to flooding.
4. Fill depressions with gravel or crushed stone, not dirt. Dirt compresses over time, causing settling.
5. Use a moisture meter to check soil conditions. Waterlogged soil causes rot and mold problems.
6. Dig holes twice the depth of the foundation walls and Concrete Block.
How to Build a Ramp For a Shed : Step 4 Shed Placement
The next step is to center the shed on the ground. This is done by pulling it forward about 3 inches from the front edge of the foundation. Then use the level to make sure the bottom of the box is even with the ground. Next, pull the box back about 2 inches from the rear corner of the foundation. Use the level again to ensure everything is square. Now you are ready to add the stakes.
How to Build a Ramp For a Shed : Step 5 Angle
The angle of the concrete ramp is one of the most important decisions that you will make. When you design a ramp plans, you need to think about the angle of the ramp surface. What does this mean? Well, it means that the angle of the ramp determines whether you have a steep wooden ramp or a gentle slope. In general, ramps slide that have a steeper angle require less maintenance because they don’t become covered in dirt and debris like a gentler slope.
How to Build a Ramp For a Shed : Step 6 Strength
The goal here was to make sure that the shed would be strong enough to hold a riding mower and small garden tractor. I wanted to keep the cost down so I used some scrap wood and 2×6 lumber.
